Bro mostly fine but just assuming the DM was reacting to poor player conduct without knowing the situation is wild. He could have come into the group with a chip on his shoulder or have overreacted to normal player behavior just putting it all on these players is just as bad as assuming he’s being 100% unreasonable and this is all definitely unprompted. In all likelihood it’s a mix of both.

I just had my very first DnD session; it was more like a demo(?) ver. with pre-made characters for beginners. I chose an Wood Elf hunter ranger. I've seen your video before the session which was exactly why I wanted to play as a ranger. Lol Turned out to be great at perception, survival, and investigation with the dice god blessing me with nat20s or higher, being an excellent "ranger"... except during the battle for some reason kept rolling numbers lower than 10. 😂

Story 1: Yeah, each table is different, and you have to find common ground on the kind of D&D (or TTRPG) you want to play. Some groups want more narrative, others want more hack 'n' slash, and others want a balance. Once you understand the table and learn to adapt yourself to that style of play, then you can enjoy the game with that specific group. Of course, there may be styles that you don't care for, and that's fine. If you feel like a table isn't working, there is nothing wrong with stepping away, even if you are the DM. Just make it clear what you think is wrong, don't be antagonistic, and learn to let things go.

Literally every world ever thought up in any reality comprehended by mortal man is run on some sort of system. Thinking that your world is "systemless" either means that you just don't have any lore and everything constantly contradicts itself and the true system is a social one of "who can talk louder than the other person wins", or you do have lore about what's possible and how the world works, and you simply don't enforce it. Because that's all a system is. A way to consistently enforce the laws and rules of how the universe functions. Every story you've ever heard of had a system.

I only play non-archetypes for new DMs. As for experienced DMs..... -cackles in chaos stup1d Spanish- You underestimate my ability to be useless for 90 percent of the campaign but that fir the 10 percent specific scenarios, I AM ELDRITCH GOD MADE FLESH!!!!

Holding a Session ZERO for the overall game, setting campaign expectations as a group - will fix a ton of issues! OK LOL - you literally offered this advice just as I finished typing it out!

The metal armor thing likely has to do with typical perceptions of druids and hermits all dressing like Radagast, and might have connection to metal being a symbol of civilization and industrialization (moving away from the natural world), but it is definitely a bit silly. 5e putting it as an almost flavor line rather than a hard rule also really pushed it into a lot of debates. Anywho, despite how many people play it, Druid is still one of the strongest classes, adept at surviving encounters and punishing foes. It needs no changes, except maybe the perceptions of players.

Sorry my Sorceress is not lazy, she is active.... Like super hyperactive... One of my DMs always found this one quirk she has hilarious, she freaks out seeing skeletons and will literally nuke an area trying to get away from them/destory them, only to end up killing/destroying everythin, but the Skeletons. Our Paladin has to always smite any Skeletons he spots because he knows that the clean up after one of her freak outs is really long, tiring and expensive... She once leveled an entire kingdom because of a Lich....

for me in the second story all the team was out of character.... i means if they are aligned good, they will have try to make him repent, but they have acted like paragon of virtue, pure loyal good. what is totally out of character. i will have been the player after a few session trying to make amend i will have simply leave the party or murder all of them.... at this point, you can't expect someone chaotic neutral to remain pacifist while facing soo much animosity. the worst in all of this, it's the dm.... the fact to bring the two kids story arc was only a bad move. it didn't let the team time to try to sort out the situation, but instead create a situation that will divide more the team. all in all, it was painfull to listen... because in this story the only one still in character for most of the story was the ranger, the rest of the team was.... jerk.

Whenever people get superstitious about randomness, I tell them about how it's all just perception and psychology, while I think to myself: From a purely statistical point of view, there has to be some poor person out there, that rolled 90% unluckily throughout all of their pen'n'paper session.

I feel like something that should be acknowledged is that this is clearly a conflict that should NEVER have gone public. While this is definitely a combination of the Players being very antagonistic and the DM being very retaliatory, the fact of the matter is that the Players were the ones who made it public, so GIVEN the background context, I’m more likely to give a bigger side eye the players for airing their group’s dirty laundry when it absolutely didn’t need to be public.

I just need to know how many classes are there?, cuz I never seen the blood Hunter on a crap guide to d&d
